Prayer Warriors Needed At St. Mary’s

So, what is a “Prayer Warrior”? This will be a group of parishioners committed to praying for the current and future needs of St. Mary’s Parish. Most of your prayers would be personally offered in your own home on your own time, however, on occasion, the group would meet to pray together at a common time and place. If you are interested in becoming a St. Mary’s Prayer Warrior, contact Lisa Schmit.

“Sewing For Africa” Fabric And Sewing Supplies Needed

Below is a list of sewing supplies that are used and needed to make these items. If you would like to donate any of these supplies they may be given to Joanne Ekberg.  Thank you!

Extra Wide Double Fold Bias Tape: Immediate colors needed: White, Purple, Teal, Navy, Orange, Orchid, Light Blue, Hot Pink, Berry and Coral. You may find these colors at Hobby Lobby or at their website https://www.hobbylobby.com/

1/2″ Elastic

White, Royal Blue and Navy Blue thread.

Single fold bias tape works as well but the double fold is a little easier to work with.

It takes one package of bias tape per dress.

The group currently has 30 dresses almost finished, 15 pairs of shorts and 12 school bags. It takes about 2 nights to sew each different item. In a week or so they hope to put together a display at church of their sewn items.

RCIA Classes To Begin

RCIA classes began October 24 at St. Mary’s Parish Center. We share class instructions with Pierce and Plainview. Father Lim and Deacon Doug will assist with instructions. If you are interested please call St. Jane’s Parish Office or St. Mary’s School. Classes will be on Tuesday nights from the end of October until Holy Week just before Easter Sunday. Those who join the church do so on Holy Saturday night on March 31, 2018. Class times begin at 7:00 p.m. and run until around 8:30 p.m. Those interested will also need a sponsor who will walk with them through the classes and their entrance into the Church. We look forward to learning together about the riches of our Catholic Faith! Those who can join RCIA are those adults who are from another faith and are interested in learning about joining the Catholic Faith or those adults who were baptized Catholic but have not received First Holy Communion and /or Confirmation.  Click Here To See The Schedule
