Discovering CHRIST (Sacred Heart Parish Norfolk)

Discovering CHRIST is for anyone and everyone, from the baptized in the pews to the unbaptized person who has never entered a church, to enter into or renew a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, experience the love of God the Father, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live as God’s children. It also gives participants the relational support necessary to begin living for Christ within the parish.

“Sewing For Africa” Fabric And Sewing Supplies Needed

Below is a list of sewing supplies that are used and needed to make these items. If you would like to donate any of these supplies they may be given to Joanne Ekberg.  Thank you!

Extra Wide Double Fold Bias Tape: Immediate colors needed: White, Purple, Teal, Navy, Orange, Orchid, Light Blue, Hot Pink, Berry and Coral. You may find these colors at Hobby Lobby or at their website https://www.hobbylobby.com/

1/2″ Elastic

White, Royal Blue and Navy Blue thread.

Single fold bias tape works as well but the double fold is a little easier to work with.

It takes one package of bias tape per dress.

The group currently has 30 dresses almost finished, 15 pairs of shorts and 12 school bags. It takes about 2 nights to sew each different item. In a week or so they hope to put together a display at church of their sewn items.
See the picture of the items that have been made by the “Sewing For Africa” group on the right of this page!
